It is about the infamous Bonnie and Clyde and what she would have said to him in that final moment before the end. I know, I don't know where I came up with it but the lyrics and melody were conceived somewhere in Montana or Wyoming on my way to New York. I got them recorded to my ipod and finally finished writing the music when I got settled back at home.
The story of Bonnie and Clyde has always fascinated me despite my little knowledge about them. I decided to write a song about their last moment together. They were gunned down by the police driving away. I set the scene in the car after being shot. Bonnie is singing to Clyde and telling him of her sadness that this is the way they end.
Listen to the track Here

Dead and Done

She said I’m sorry for this moment
I’m sorry it came to this
Two years on the road
And we’re finally getting fixed
What a run we had
One to be remembered
One to be revered
We’ve made our mark

Oh, look at what we’ve done
The chase is over
We’ve had our run
And oh what have we won
If I am about dead and your about done
If I am dead and your done

We wake to the mountains pulling the sky over our heads
To the road that pulls like rope
A little further just a bit further
Is all we ever know
It’s all we hope

She
struggled to pull him closer and whispered in his ear
I’m sorry to be here
I’ve got no regrets
I wouldn’t give back a single day
I’d do it all the same
Wouldn’t have it any other way
