Fading is about a friend of mine from high school that I was very close with despite never dating her. At a certain point it became apparent that our friendship would not be as close any more and so I wrote this song to express my feelings of bitter-sweet goodbyes. I was happy to see her moving on to better things but sad to lose a friend.
