I taught the Little Prince, one of my favorite books, and assigned the students to interpret the book in some form or media. As a good leader, I participated and this is what came out of it.

It comes from the perspective of the Little Prince as he apologizes to his flower. For the things he saw on his travels he saw how little anything in life is worth except that one thing. That one thing is the meaning of life, something we spend our whole lives looking for and it can be found in the 100 pages of a children's book. It is modernized a bit but the message is still the same. Figure it out.

Matters of Consequence
With all the things I’ve missed,
I can’t believe I’ve made it this far
And all regrets, you know I’ve got my list
That’s why I can’t believe I’m looking at you now
And all the times I pretended to forget
You somehow knew to call
And even though I let down again
Somehow it was always your fault

You can learn your maps and count your stars But it’s of no consequence
When you come back home and lay to rest You realize that it was all in your head
And that is when the sunsets begin and it all starts over again

Cause taming is harder than blaming you for what went wrong
And waiting makes it harder for its been oh so long
But I know-oh that soon you’ll be always, always
I know-oh soon you’ll be complete

What’s a king w/out a wife or a place to call his reign
What’s a man full of pride with no one to tap his vain
And hold onto your numbers
Cause it is all you can hold onto

That is when the sunset begins and it all starts over again
Sooner comes than sooner needs and it starts all over again
