Ill Will (Rainy Day Song)
Falling into the room
I couldn’t hear the signal coming through
I’ve grown deaf to the static
B/w the grays and blues of tv hue
The low hum occupies enough room
To fill both our glasses
What’s there left to do
This isn’t what I signed up for
I don’t recall this part in the brochure
There must be some mistake
Is there any measure we didn’t take
Don’t tell me this is it
It’s so easy to be consumed
To be caught up in licking our wounds
And so I’ll save feeling lonely
For a rainy day
I rarely dream anymore
The pictures I’ve been painting
Are tattered and fading
And the canvas is tucked under bed
Far out of reach
Of anything my mind can conceive
It all happened so fast
I didn’t see love coming in
I just put my head down
And waited for it to pass
We take it all in stride
We learn how to get by
To give the things inside
their place and time
