This song was written as part of a songwriting contest in which a title was given and you had a week to produce a song. I took the title and applied it to the Indie music scene and the elitism that many of the bands in the scene posess. I realized I have no claim in that genre and I am ok with that. I am indie in the sense that I do it myself but not part of the scene. Using that idea I wrote from the elitist point of view to show the ridiculousness of their mentality. I use it also to help myself to remember what I don't want to be as a musician or as a person. As a result the "family" has grown considerably smaller.
Listen to the track Here

We Are All Famous
In between the days and you
Triumphantly
Second on the scene
We mock your simple point of view
Honestly
What were you thinking

We are all famous
Like the ones that came before us
We will remain
And suck up the spotlight
We are all famous
And you know
We’re not going home

And when it all comes down
We won’t be the ones
Left to drown
You’ll lay down
In front for us to pass
Our feet dry stepping on your back

And in the night
You look to the stars
And we’re the ones who shine
Oh so bright
And you can barely see
You should feel lucky
We let you bask in our light.

We are all famous
And you know we’re not going home
We are all famous and you know you don’t belong
